There is a region within Nepal where Tibetan traditions have survived for centuries. Located on the Tibetan plateau, Mustang experiences a challenging climate. The land is dry and the wind relentless.
The Lobas live in Upper Mustang. They are Tibetans who follow the Buddhist tradition. Every month of May, Mustangis gather in Lo Manthang, the capital, for Tiji Festival, which celebrates the victory of good over evil.
