A Mineral World, Ladakh 2004

In the very Northern part of India lies Ladakh, “The land of high passes.”It is one of the highest inhabited lands on the planet.

Chortens, mani walls and monasteries are testimony to the enduring  Buddhist culture.

The sparsely populated Markha Valley feels like an oasis in a very mineral landscape, sculpted throughout the geological times. There is a sense of infinity in these big spaces, also enjoyed by wildlife. Jule!
