The Kingdom of Bhutan is the only carbon neutral country in the world.
Bhutanese are predominantly Buddhists and revere Nature. 65% of the country is covered by forests, home to a very rich biodiversity.
Bhutanese also take great pride in their Dzongs, the fortresses, and in their “Tshechus” festivals, when sins can be washed away and blessings received. It is very inspiring that they have been able to respond to modern life needs, while preserving their traditions.
I am honored to have been three times to Bhutan and taken people to a country, which recognizes Gross National Happiness rather than Gross Domestic Product.
